MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) is a way of obtaining images of various parts of your body without involving the use of x-rays and/or other radiation. MRI exams are the scan of choice when examining specific areas of interest such as: the brain, spinal cord and nerves. These are seen much more clearly with MRI scans than with regular x-rays and CT scans. MRI is also optimal when there is suspected muscle, ligament, or tendon injury.
